“Inclusivity is a universal right that makes the world a better place.”

Gabriela (Gabi) Peralta is a Colombiana from NYC. She’s a college graduate, with a B.A in Digital Communications and Culture with a Minor in New Media Arts. She's always been interested in pursuing technology and design, recently implementing a goal for social change. This has led her to become a fierce advocate for women in STEAM, becoming a Built By Girls Ambassador and a Wellness Peer Mentor at her college.

Her work as a Built By Girls Ambassador has created new opportunities for the tech industry to work with young womxn and network with them. She has worked with advisors at Snapchat, Twitter, The Huffington Post, and IMDB to further her knowledge of business partnerships in tech, marketing & UI/UX design. Her work as a Peer Mentor has given her the opportunity to work in-depth with students and faculty to implement a safe space for students on campus and create programming for the well-being of all students on campus.

Gabi currently works at the Queens Museum, as their Communications and Marketing Coordinator. She works closely with the museum’s departments to produce compelling written and audio-visual stories across all communication channels and support the overall content and communications strategy at the museum. She ensures that a consistent voice and visual identity are held across all channels. A Queens native and new media artist, her experience as an animator, filmmaker, and spoken word performer led her to create her first animation and live-action short film. She joined the Queens Museum team in 2022.

She is passionate about using her story and experiences as a young woman to inspire the next generation of leaders and creatives to be vulnerable, love the skin they’re in, and advocate for social justice and change.
